German Federal President H. Köhler to be patron of World Championship
The Standard Formation World Championship, which will take place on Saturday, November 24, 2007 at the Porsche Arena in Stuttgart, is getting famous support: the German Federal President Horst Köhler will take over the patronage of the most important event in formation dancing. “We’re extraordinarily happy about that firm promise,” says the president of the hosting club 1. TC Ludwigsburg (1. TCL), Gaby Wulff.
“We’re very thankful that our MP and former German transport minister Matthias Wissmann took over the intermediary role,” explains the honorary president of the 1. TCL, Horst Fröscher. “You have to know that the Federal President went to school in Ludwigsburg and still has a lot of relatives and friends here,” he adds.
The dance club 1. TCL will be hosting the Standard Formation World Championship for the fourth time after 1989, 1995 and 2004.
What’s more, the Standard Formation World Championships will be the last of four World Championships taking place in Stuttgart in 2007. As “European Capital of Sports”, the city of Stuttgart will host World Championships in handball, gymnastics and cycling.
